Rather than using a single, monochromatic shade of purple for your wedding, we think that using shades of purple creates a much more modern and contemporary look! Inspired by our post on these two toned modern purple wedding invitations, we put together a little purple wedding inspiration taken from our purple wedding board on Pinterest.
While we love the multiple shades of purple used on our Modern Luxe wedding invites (this set featured was done in amethyst, grape and eggplant), doing multiple shades of purple also works very well in the flower bouquets and centerpieces, along with the pretty ombre wedding cake above. In addition to using multiple hues of violet on individual items, you can also break things up by highlighting different shades of purple in different parts of your decor. The lilac flats featured above really strike a bold contrast against the vibrant grape chocolate pastries.
Because the first preview of your big day starts with the wedding invitations, your stationery is an excellent jumping off point for your overall color palette. Don’t be afraid to play with color, you might be surprised at the fun combinations you can come up with!
This pretty aquamarine wedding invitation package features everything you need for your wedding stationery and more. Multiple enclosures, a patterned envelope liner, and stylish belly band make this wedding invitation the complete package.
We particularly love the aquamarine color on this ornate invitation design. The aqua belly band and striped envelope liner give the suite a romantic, ethereal feel, invoking thoughts of French vintage or shabby chic style. While shown in aquamarine, this wedding invitation can be customized in any number of colors!
What really sets this design apart is the unique wedding monogram. Using a shaded engraver’s font gives this invitation a very classic and vintage feel, while still being up to date. The swirls beneath the initials and date frame the monogram just perfectly, creating a very luxurious look.
If aquamarine is not your color of choice, you can see our Antique Monogram design in blush and purple on our blog, and in antique gold on our main site. No matter what color you ultimately decide to order, keep in mind that we will send proofs for your review via email as you work 1-1 with us to perfect your wedding invitation package.

Our Modern Luxe wedding invitations are normally shown in a bold royal blue color on our website, so it was quite refreshing to see a recent client change them up and do a pretty pastel purple! The result is modern, but softer, and we absolutely adore it.
The text and monogram are shown in grape and eggplant purple, while the borders and polka dot patterned envelope liner are shown in amethyst purple. The mix of light and dark purple hues adds contrast while keeping the invitation suite within the violet color family.
One thing we absolutely love about our Modern Luxe wedding invitation design is the way the borders look when the suite is assembled. The layered style is really unique and packs a visual punch when your guest open their invitations.
We also thought that this couple’s use of the polka dot envelope liner rather than something bolder such as stripes or chevron really went a long way towards creating a purple wedding invitation package that was more on the romantic and whimsical side.
The color options for this suite really are endless and sometimes seeing something in a different hue can affect your overall opinion of a design. More versions of our Modern Luxe invitation in different colors can be found on our blog, or you can head straight to our website to get started on you order!
I’m really excited about today’s post. Our friends Steve and Jennifer over at Bumblebee Linens shared one of their gorgeous vintage bridal hankies with us and I was thrilled to get to use it in our latest photo shoot! Their wedding handkerchiefs are absolutely gorgeous and the quality is outstanding. Delicate lace embroidery, pretty whites, quality fabric. We’re totally in love.
Decorative handkerchiefs are often used during the ceremony to blot away those emotional tears of joy. Rather than having a plain hankie, something with a delicate, vintage look goes much nicer with the overall look of a wedding. These hankies can also be used as an alternative to standard catering napkins at the reception, giving your event a styled, romantic and vintage feel. We had a great time incorporating them as a decor element when styling our wedding invitation pictures.
Shown above is our Script Elegance wedding invitation. We love the simple and timeless feel of this invitation mixed with the slightly vintage and romantic look of the lace embroidery. We highly recommend mixing texture with design when styling your wedding decor elements.
