Purple has been all the rage this year and for good reason! We are absolutely loving these whimsical wedding invitations in a combination of orchid purple and amethyst. The marriage of purples is sweet, romantic and contemporary… and we are head over heels.
This particular wedding invite lends itself very well to using multiple hues of purple. The stacked names are perfect for creating a sort of ombre effect by using two different shades of purple on top of each other. In the following pictures you will see that this particular client loved purple so much that they added an eggplant hue at the bottom of the invitation for yet another point of interest. The light purple striped envelope liner really brings things together.
The invitation wrapper for this wedding invitation design is done in a solid color with knockout writing, which really adds to the impact of the purple hues. Between the wrapper, envelope liner and whimsical script font used for the heading text, this invite has just the right amount of design elements to create a pretty yet modern wedding invitation package.
If you are looking for modern purple wedding invitations that are whimsical, romantic and tasteful, then this your design. Rather than using a single, monochromatic shade of purple for your wedding, we think that using shades of purple creates a much more modern and contemporary look! Inspired by our post on these two toned modern purple wedding invitations, we put together a little purple wedding inspiration taken from our purple wedding board on Pinterest.
While we love the multiple shades of purple used on our Modern Luxe wedding invites (this set featured was done in amethyst, grape and eggplant), doing multiple shades of purple also works very well in the flower bouquets and centerpieces, along with the pretty ombre wedding cake above. In addition to using multiple hues of violet on individual items, you can also break things up by highlighting different shades of purple in different parts of your decor. The lilac flats featured above really strike a bold contrast against the vibrant grape chocolate pastries.
Because the first preview of your big day starts with the wedding invitations, your stationery is an excellent jumping off point for your overall color palette. Don’t be afraid to play with color, you might be surprised at the fun combinations you can come up with!
Our Modern Luxe wedding invitations are normally shown in a bold royal blue color on our website, so it was quite refreshing to see a recent client change them up and do a pretty pastel purple! The result is modern, but softer, and we absolutely adore it.
The text and monogram are shown in grape and eggplant purple, while the borders and polka dot patterned envelope liner are shown in amethyst purple. The mix of light and dark purple hues adds contrast while keeping the invitation suite within the violet color family.
One thing we absolutely love about our Modern Luxe wedding invitation design is the way the borders look when the suite is assembled. The layered style is really unique and packs a visual punch when your guest open their invitations.
We also thought that this couple’s use of the polka dot envelope liner rather than something bolder such as stripes or chevron really went a long way towards creating a purple wedding invitation package that was more on the romantic and whimsical side.
The color options for this suite really are endless and sometimes seeing something in a different hue can affect your overall opinion of a design. More versions of our Modern Luxe invitation in different colors can be found on our blog, or you can head straight to our website to get started on you order!
Here at Shine Wedding Invitations, we think that country chic incorporates both natural and vibrant colors while still maintaining a elegant look with a little country twist! For our new 2014 collection we decided to put country chic to the test. Our Chic Elegance wedding invitation design uses eggplant as a vibrant color for the DIY envelope liners and the belly band.
We have incorporated an elegant swirl ornament at the top and bottom to bring all of the copy together and of course, it’s cute and a little country! The script font also ties in the ornamental swirl making the overall design unified. The eggplant envelope liner is a nice bold statement to this simple design, however, that does not mean that the liner needs to be solid to be bold! Check out how this design looks with some pattern!
