Traditional vs. Online RSVPs

Response cards are a crucial part of your wedding invitations suite. Learn about the difference between online RSVPs and traditional mailed RSVPs.

Traditional Response Cards

Traditional Response Cards

Traditional response cards allow guests to reply by mail, adding a personal touch to your wedding invitations. This option is more formal according to etiquette.

You’ll send your guests a printed response card along with the invitation, where they’ll fill in their names and initial their meal choices.

Complimentary envelopes are included so your guests can easily mail their replies back to you. Pre-addressing and stamping your return envelopes is highly recommended for the convenience of your guests.

Online Response Cards

Online Response Cards

Online response cards allow your guests to quickly and easily reply online by scanning a QR code with their phone.

You’ll send your guests a printed response card that includes a QR code that links to a website that will collect your RSVP information. Our designers will generate a complimentary QR code for your order.

Common Questions

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A MAILED RESPONSE AND AN ONLINE RESPONSE?

If you prefer a formal approach to RSVPs, consider using mailed response cards, especially if you would like guests to reply via mail or select their meal preference. Your mailed reply order will come with an A1 envelope, which we recommend pre-stamping and adding a return address for a seamless process.

For a more contemporary approach to tracking responses, consider including a custom QR code on your response cards, which replaces the traditional method of guests filling out their names. With a simple scan using their phone, guests can easily access your wedding website and RSVP in just a few clicks. This hassle-free method saves you time and simplifies the process for your guests. Please keep in mind that Shine Wedding Invitations does not currently provide website services.

When creating your wedding suite with our real-time online suite builder, you’ll have the choice between traditional mail-in response cards or online RSVP options, both of which include a printed response card. Depending on your preference, the content of the response card will be tailored accordingly. If you opt for traditional mail-in responses, your suite will include response envelopes, while online RSVPs omit the envelopes.
